What is the life span of a goldfish
so about last year august i bought 6 regular .25 cent goldfish right now i only have 2 left and they are getting bigger and bigger. anyway i just wanted to know how long do they live?
Answers:Goldfish live 15-25 years and get about 2 feet long (Common Goldfish). By keeping it in a bowl or in a tank less than 75 gallons, you are really killing them. Fancy Goldfish stay smaller (about 10 inches) and need 10+ gallons each. When Goldfish only live about a year (or less), it is because their owner took poor care of them by keeping them in a bowl or not cleaning their tank. When you put a potentially big fish in a small space, the fish gets stunted. Stunting is when the fish appears not to grow, but the internal organs continue to grow. This leads to organ pinching and premature death.

Well, all I can say is that I once had one that lived for about 5 year. The odd thing is, I NEVER cleaned his bowl!
the normal life span is between 1-3 years.
My mother had her goldfish for 15 years. Koi fish can live even longer.
The average life span of a goldfish is upwards of 12 years. They can live much longer, even up to 20 years of age, when given the correct environmental conditions.
