I have two large oscars in a thirty gallon tank and I wonder how long they can stay in there. They are alittle over a year old now and quite large.
Answers:How big? Two fish in 30 gallons seems fine.that's one fish per 15 gallons and unless they are approaching massive proportions then they should be quite happy.
Never. Mine was always kept in a 55 then a 75. I'm surprised they're still alive. Poor things must be miserable. And the one inch of fish rule doesn't apply to large fish. It's mainly geared towards community type fish that stay under 3 inches and don't put out as much waste as oscars do. Even then, it's not a real good philosophy.
about one year otherwise its impossible.
Its too small. Get a 55 Gallon tank. Or bigger. It conforms to the luxurious taste of Oscars (trivia: they wonan Oscar trophy)
