If you mean "hardest" as in texture, then surely it's got to be salted (dried) cod ! ! !
im assuming you mean hardiest, but in which case, what sort of fish are you on about? tropical? cold water? marine? we need more info.
do you mean tank fish? pond fish? if in tropical fish do you mean from community fish? of chiclids? you see there are alot of different answers to this question

my 2 Walking catfish... both over 18in long and over 1.5Kg..!! ..they both attacked a 2ft Pleco .and won .! ( pleco now with another fish keeper ).. i cant put anything in the tank ...they just smash it up ..iv gone through 6 heaters ( all were in guards ). 2 internal Ehiem filters .. nuff said

Hello, Does a starfish come under your category if so i would say STARFISH, when they lose a (limb)? it grows back.also i read that the Shark can heal it's self from many deceases including some cancers.

If we are talking aquarium fish it's likely the paradise gourami. They take air from the suface, and take much lower temps than their betta cousins. (Bettas are a big more hardy, but need temps inthe 75-85F range.) Goldfish are rather hardy, and are the low temp champs. They can survive iced over ponds as long as the pond doesn't freeze. Mosquito fish, and to a lesser degree their guppy cousins. (Most fancy guppy are a bit delicate.) Danios, and minnows are pretty hardy. Pearl gourami are rather hardy if their temp in kept above 72.
