My two balloon mollies died of something very weird. One died a long time ago, but today the other died.

Well, they both seemed to get it very quickly. They looked normal, but they were sitting at the bottom of the tank, butts up, nose down. Whenever you poked them with the net, they would start swimming around, and then swim sideways and then go down into the same position as before. It takes about 10 hours, from when they got sick to the time they die. I treated the water immediately, so my fish wouldn't get it. I don't get it! It's only my balloon mollies. WHAT IS THIS DISEASE??

And sadly, to get my last balloon molly out of her misery, I flushed her. :-( She was still half alive!

Be careful! Balloon mollies are prone to have swim bladder disease. This is where they take in too much air and cannot control how they swim because a pocket of air inside their body makes them float in different directions, making their equilibrium seem off. Believe me! My balloon molly has it too. I got this thing called Tank Buddies and it is for fungus. It says it cures swim bladder disease. I tried it and our molly is doing a little better. Sadly, your fish probably died due to starvation. They can't get to the food to adequately nourish themselves. Sorry for your loss, but be careful with your next ones. Good luck too!
