What kinds of fish work best in fish a simple fish bowl2007-11-24 23:42:07

I know Betas do well. Looking to get 2 fish for the large type bowl.

Answers:

Nothing should be in a bowl. I don't even agree with bettas in anything smaller then 2 gallons, just my opinion.

Goldfish are really dirty. You always see them in fishbowls on TV, but they don't do well at all in them. They polute the water and die quickly if you don' t change it.

Betas do great, but you can't have two in the same bowl.

I don't know - what about guppies?

you cant have beta's in the same bowl cuz well they will kill each other. You can have a gold fish, but they will dirty up your tank rather fastley. you know what could be a good choice? those ones they sell you to feed to your other pets ;] they are only like 10cents. and well you never know, you should see how long they last.

betas are great for small spaces but you can only have one per bowl or they will fight kill eachother. goldfish can grow to be really big and also they are very messy, you will have to clean the bowl very often. a pair of guppies would work, or pair of Lyretail Killies, or pygmy gouramis, dwarf shell-dwelling cichlids, Pygmy Corydoras, or a small school of white cloud mountain minnows.

Guppies are cool and can live in a bowl. They are small but can have cool colors. Goldfish do well in bowls to and there are all different types. Feed your gold fish cucumber slices or zucchini slices and his colors will become very vivid. Goldfish are usually inexpensive but watch out because they like to breed, but you could always give babies back to the pet store.

No recommendations except a male Betta because space wise a bowl isn't large enough for a goldfish. Tropical fish need water to be filtered and heated to a temp of 78-80. The betta would like a nice artificial plant to sit on. Using marbles instead of rocks will make water changes easier also.

goldfish.angelfish..u can also do shirmp if you wanted to.or all water frogs (make sure they dont need land tho)
