What pet fish in a tank dont need a filter to survive i need a list

Well, I have a Male Betta, three khuli loaches, a pleco, two guppies and a molly in a ten gallon tank with no filter. And, a 5.5 gallon tank with 15 half grown guppies and no filter. Both tanks have a heater and plants, but only the larger tank has an air stone. The trick is that I only feed them every other day.

Betta (Siamese Fighting Fish).

All other fish produce a lot of waste, and so having a filter is in your best interest unless you do tank cleanings every couple of days.

Most fish also need the aeration that a filter provides.

Betas..I do recommend filtered tanks for Goldfish. They can technically survive, but be prepared to change the water very frequently. Filtered tanks are very reasonable these days..you can probably find one for under $30.

if you change the water regularly, none of the fresh water fish need a filter. However, its healthier and easier to have a filter. You just change 1/3 of the water weekly, and have a bubbler and air stone and your fish should do fine.
