My b/f and his dad have a tank of minnows and are unsure what to feed them until they take them to fish with.
Answers:The bigger issue with keeping them alive is keeping them with air in there water. They need a heavy flow of current, like they have in a natural enviroment.
You can feed them standard blood worms from the freezer at your local pet store. This is the fish food that is frozen. They will probably love them.
i think they eat microscopic stuff im not sure im not a fish expert
fish food
Regular fish food will probably keep them going until you use them as bait. Bread will probably do too, for a couple of days. The real challenge is keeping the water fresh, especially if there is no filter, the ammonia (from the fish pee) will build up and the oxygen will get depleated in the water, either of which will kill the fish.
I too have feeder minnows that I feed to my Muskies. Just give them flake food - Wardley's multi-color is best, but there are others which will work as well.
gold fish flakes
just a basic flake fish food will do just fine
just regular fish flakes
They will happily eat any type of flake food, but you will need to aerate the water and change half of it with tap water aged 24 hrs if any of them are to survive
