What type of "algea eater" would u reccommend
lol i know, a lot of questions, every new pet turns intoa research project for me lol. i want to add a snail or some sort of bottom feeder to my tank in a week or so ( to allow for enough food to build up for it?) what would u recommend for a 5 gallon, non-heated tank with fantails? i have a bio filter, charcoal filter and light. also.. i'm interested in getting some sort of live plant. and i am working on a fairly tight budget lol thanks SOOOOOOOOO much guys!
Answers:With 3 fantails in a 5 gallon the only thing I would recommend is a bigger tank. They need 10 gallons each to have a chance to live a full healthy life. Also anything else you add will just overstock the tank even more and just cause the water to be even harder to keep clean.

a baby pleco but then again they get very, very big! and a 5 gallon is TOO small!
A few snails should help. They don't take up much room and breed pretty quickly.
5 gallon with gold fish, like fan tails is to small. A pleco will die easily. Go with at MOST two small tails and skip the betta. Without heat the pleco may not make it. It depends on your room temp.
As to the plant, I would ask the pet store. 5 gallons really doesn't give you a lot of room and you will have to reverse your filtration.
