What type of fish do i have
I just bought a fish but i dont know what kind of fish it is. I know it is a tropical fish. it is silver/gray. It is kinda long (2-3 in) and it if flat. and also, its tail is always moving back and fourth like a snake. If you could identify it for me it would be relly appretiated. Thanks! =)
Answers:Sounds like a knife fish, maybe? Is it thinner towards its tail with a fin that goes all along it's body on the bottom that sort of waves to propel it around?
it could be a beta fish.but u dident give enough info.but i bet it is a beta!
sounds like a tetra
if it's long and skinny it might be a loach of some kind
go to the library check out a tropical fish book.its sound like alot of fish, maybe a hatchet fish
Impossible to say without seeing a pic of it!
Maybe join http://www.fishcrazy.co.uk/ and ask there as there are loads of very knowledgeable fish keepers there
Where does it tend to swim, on the bottom or higher up?
Is there any sort of pattern on it or is it just silver/gray?
YoYo Loaches (http://www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/fishind. resemble what you describe. It might also be a really washed out danio, or some kind of minnow. Hard to tell without a picture.
Could you perhaps give a little more of a description?
It could be an alergy eater. You may want to go to your local pet store a look for other fish like him / her. Good luck and God bless you!
it could be a fish called a peacock eel. they are a tropical fish. i have a few of them. does it have a slightly pointed nose? hard to say without a picture but could be a peacock eel
