What type of fish should I get if I live in a college dorm2007-11-24 23:42:36

First off, make sure they are allowed in the dorm.

A fish that must be alone but can live in a small tank is a beta. They are very bright and come in many different colors. They can live with other kinds of fish, but just not other betas. they will fight each other. They are fairly easy to take care of, and not very expensive.

Another option would always be the classic goldfish. =)

Something small and low maintenance like a gold fish. You can keep a couple in a small bowl and feed them a lil food every day and they're happy!

well the best fish u can keep with very little caretaking is either goldfish but u'll have to change the water quite often as gold fish eat much and dump much well the best u can have is a Siamese fighter but only one fish per bowl

i would go with a beta fish. they don't require a pump that would take up an outlet. they don't need a huge tank of water, and they have a lot of personality. most dorms allow you to have fish and nothing else

A gold fish! Very easy to take care of and not to expensive. Or if you prefer a more colorful choice.a beta! You only have to clean the cage every couple of months, and you only feed them every other day! Plus there are many color combinations to choose from! Make sure that you look up some info on them first though or ask an employee at the pet store. Also most importantly, be sure not to mix two males together!
