A bowl is a completely inappropriate home for a goldfish, and anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about. You need a minimum of 10 gallons for a fancy goldfish, more for a single-tailed variety like comets.

The ONLY fish that can thrive in a bowl is a betta.

i'd go with bettas. cheap, colorful, easy to maintain. you just can't keep it with other fish
none as soon as someone pours beer in it they are died
goldfish.it is the cutest fish&many people loves goldfish
Beta's are very pretty and don't need a lot of time.
hurry get yourself a betta, better yet, get a few and keep them in separate bowls, put them close and watch them trying to fight off each other. it's a joy to watch but never - NEVER put them in one bowl! i lost a few bettas cuz I totally forgot to separate the bowls and shocked to find one betta had jumped into the other and killed it! get the males cuz they're more active and colourful, the female are quite subtle and less active but still very colourful! Enjoy!
you sbould get goldfish they are cute
for a college student fishsticks would be best.
A betta or a goldfish are you best choices. They are both good pets, that is what has made them so popular.
Beta Beta Beta..pretty, and low maintenance, and cheap.smile
If you are creative enough you can get away with just about whatever you want. My roomate is an engineer and he built a 10 gallon fishtank into a coffee table a few days ago. Its pretty cool actually. We are getting cheap fish though because they are going to die for their month alone over christmas break. Neither of us really wants to take them home. I live in phoenix and go to school in indiana. But i suggest the coffee table thing so you dont have to worry about it taking up desk space or whatever. And everyone needs a place to put drinks.
get a betta all you do is change the bowl 1 a month
Id go with a beta or a tetra. DO NOT GET A GOLDFISH! Its cruel to keep them in bowls, it really is.
I had a goldfish in college. I had it for 2 years in a bowl. Then I moved off campus and it came with me. One night my roommates were drunk and they wanted to see if my goldfish was a college fish (i was not there at the time, they told me about it later). The next morning, the fish was floating. They said I guess it is not a college fish. So needless to say, although they are fun to look at, fish are not a good idea unless you want to be flushing them every time your friends get drunk.
