What vegetable matter can I substitute as food for koi2007-11-24 23:42:40Answers:

cucumber, lettuce, peas, and zuchinni (sp?) are all good, just blanch them first

they love cucumber. Put a slice in and they'll eat it to the rind. but you have to feed them fish food also, it has all the nutrients they need, they'll die if you only give them veggies (or mutilate each other)
they really like lettuce!
they will eat lettuce, cabbage, squash, rice crispys . .

floating pond plants also provide them with fresh veggitation . . I have water hycinthia and water lettuce that they nibble on . . .

how about insects? good source of protein
They will go nuts for cooked peas.
Bok choy.
