At one point I also had a plastic berry crate in my guppy tank to anchor some plants and act as a safe haven for the babies.

You have to have place for them to hide so put a large variety of broad leafed plants on the one side of the tank, on the other side just put a couple of large rocks and do the feeding on that side, unless they spawn then you feed the side of the plants as well cause the babies will hide there

Consider an under tank heater for the plant health and use a filter that doesn't move water too much (the plants will help filter. Use driftwood and plant supplements to keep the tank healthy, and they fry will thrive in your tank.
