Whats the best filter for a 10 gal fish tank2007-11-24 23:43:28

I got an aquarium set for a gift and it came with a filter, but i dont think it works all that well because my tank gets dirty really quick . So i want to upgrade to a better filter but i dont know what that would be, another problem that is driving me crazy is that about 2-3 in. of water evaporates every week and it gets really loud. Please HELP!

Cut your feeding down to half of what you have been that is the only reason your tank is cloudy (I don't have filters in my ten gallon tanks and I have no problems with the fish in them), and check that your heater is working properly. That is far more water to lose then normal, even my salt water tank loses no more then an inch a week. See if there is a small leak somewhere. You could also be in a very dry place and your tank is acting like the humidifier. Just leave a glass of water sitting next to the tank at nigh and pout it in in the morning. You don't have to remove chlorine, it will evaporate overnight.

Dont bring it to sunlight thats the thing, use BIO-filters its very ative otherwise keep a tankcleaner fish on the tank.
