I saw in a franchised shop outside York last week a notice by a Black Ghost Knifefish saying they max'ed out at 20cm (8"). Mine's at 36cm (14") at the moment, and still growing!
So what is the worst/most misleading description of a Fish in an AQUARIUM STORE you've seen?
Answers:one saying convicts don't grow past 4-6 inches.
how mine grew to 18 inches.
there bloody stupid anything to sell there fish on to the public.
like you can mix chiclids with community fish.
to many tank plunged in to chaos by rouge fish.

When I was little an angel fish, I expected it to have wings and an halo, I cried for hours over that, mind you I was only 5 at the time.
not a fish, but we had a emperor boa constrictor or something we were told would not grow more than 4 feet. Unfortunately by the time it was 10 feet, taken over half the living room and started eyeing up the dog we decided to give him to a zoo
I saw a fish in a tank with fish bones not even a part of it missing the fish was swimming circles very fast

I seen some Oscars that were dyed to give them a blue color and they were being called blue Oscars.
I have seen red bellied piranhas labeled as pacus, a vegetarian. They look very similar except for the razor sharp teeth. Piranhas are tetras, BTW. Yes, tetras
