When the flash from my camera goes off as Im taking a pic of my fish, does it hurt their eyes
No, the flash doesn't seem to harm the fish in any way, a lot people use flash to take pictures of fish and don't have problems. But as a lot of people have said, using flash can cause glares or reflections from the glass in to appear in your picture. Another thing is that the flash might scare the fish away, making it harder to take a picture. I used flash to take a picture of my fish once and now they swim away as soon as they see the camera!
If you turn on your aquarium light and have decent lighting in the room then you really don't need flash.
fish don't have eyes
I don't know about hurting their eyes, but what's the point of using a flash? The light will just reflect off and all you're left with is a picture with a big bright light in the middle.
I have had the same problem with my digital camera (as I do not have an option to select the flash to be off when I snap a shot).
I had to go out to Kodak's site, and download a new firmware version for the ROMS in order to turn the flash off.
If you do not have this as your situation - the previous poster's idea of just not using a flash is ideal.
i dont think so but if it does buy a flash free cam @ wal mart.
The flash won't hurt their eyes; however it it flashes off of the glass you won't get a very good picture of your fish..
they dont mind
