Why are my aquatic fish fighting
I have a few aquatic fish that have been swimming peacefully together for a few days. They include angelfish, parrot fish and a few other fish.Howver they have started fighting with each other and it's within their own species.meaning..the angel fish fight together.WHY??
Answers:Are you sure they are fighting? It might be mating season where the males of the group will try and compete with the other males for the females. They can do this by bumping heads or fins or trying to out swim the other. Do your fish show any type of injuries after these fights? If they don't it might be mating. If they do I suggest you separate them for a while, then return them and see if they have stopped.
Another scenario could be lack of food or that the tank is dirty.
Hope this helps.
stop pouring jack daniels in the tank and see what happens
talk to a fish place owner and ask them if your kind of fish can be together
Angel fish and parrot fish are both cichlids, and are both aggressive and territorial. They are most likely trying to establish territory (even within their own species). I don't know what size tank you have them in, but aggressive fish, like those, need enough room in the tank so that they are able to claim sections of it as their own. If not, they are competing over the same space, and that will end up in the death of one or more of your fish. Provide spaces for them to hide, like rock caves, and make sure they are in a large enough tank.
Good luck!
