There's a cluster of bubbles on the top of my beta tank. How come?

while it is a "nest" as everyone has said. you don't need to buy a female (especially if you don't have the adequate space to raise both a female and hundreds of fry). breeding these fish is a whole different level than just keeping one. it's far more complicated than say, breeding guppys.

in any case, nest building is a natural behavior of these fish. with or without a female your fish will be fine..
