Why do goldfish swim/foat upside down
Why do goldfish swim/foat upside down2007-11-24 23:43:12Answers:
Either they're dead,or you mean the little fat fantail variety. Fantails often have swim-bladder problems, usually when they're over-fed. It often rights itself. My fish often float upside down after a feed. You could try putting in a lettuce leaf. This is good if they have constipation, another reason.
It is a dead goldfish?
FOAT? What the fck is FOAT?
I think there something wrong with your fish
This usually means that they are going to die as their swim balance has gone..talk to an aquamarine specialist at your local aquarium.
what are you talking about? never heard of that. fish is fish, even if its a gold one, they do not float upside down. maybe you were mistaken by their huge pop-out eyes?
I'm really sorry, but I'm afraid that if it isn't dead, it probably will be soon. Goldfish usually float upside down when they have something wrong with them, i.e. lost their sense of up and down, and it's not usually a good sign. Sorry to tell you this.
You wouldn't know, surely.
cuz they dead and the lil bit of air would be in their stomach
Generally goldfish do not float upside down unless they are dead. I know when I had an aquarium.when fish would get sick and were fixing to die, they would kind of float on their side, then come back up and do this for a few days. Then it was kaput. Sorry. Maybe you should give up the fish business. GOOD LUCK!
My fish have never done that. I would assume they were dead if they did that and send them to the great toilet bowl in the sky.
coz they dead
One fish, two fish, red fish, dead fish.
Maybe just maybe it could be dead did ya ever think of that telling ya brains there brilliant
well it normaly means its dead. try puttin it down the toilet and flushing the chain. then go by a new one. make sure its the right way up when u buy it tho.
norm cos its a pretty dead goldfish and is in need of being flushed down the loo
They do this when they are dead, sorry!!
They don't die, they just get lazy and start sunbathing all day.
Your goldfish has a problem that is affecting his swimbladder, causing him to loose proper bouyancy. In some fancy goldfish, selective breeding for cute, plumb bodies results in compressed swimbladders that leaves them more prone to this. This seems to be especially common in orandas. Other problems that cause goldfish to flip are gas in the gastrointestinal tract (sometimes due to soy in the food), internal infections, and poor water quality. Test your nitrates, high nitrates can cause goldies to flip. I would do a 50% water change today and then another 50% water change tomorrow if nitrates are very high.
