Why do my Goldfish keep dying2007-11-24 23:43:52

Check on the internet about how long it takes to naturally dechlorinate and what the best temp is.

Make sure the filter is working properly.check the ph and make sure it is compatible with gold fish. make sure the food is right for goldfish.

If you change all of the water each month the goldfish will die from shock.

Only change about 2 thirds at a time.

if you are using a traditional style bowl, do not put too much water in or the fish will suffocate.

if your taking all the water out your putting the fish in to shook once a month the water may be to hot or cold and it might be that the store you are buying from my be selling bad fish please give more detail

try geting a some thing other than a gold fish and see how it goes

many goldfish carry diseases that usually end up killing them, thats why they dont live to long, as for what you can do..before you change the water measure out how ever much you need and let it sit out in the air for about a day.that should purify it from any strong chemicals. depending on the number of fish and the size of the tank you might not need to clean it to often.clean it whenever it looks like it needs to be cleaned, not on a regular schedule

Are you using something to remove the chemicals from the water? If not, that's probably your problem. Just go to like wal-mart and get the cheapest kind of chlor out(it's around the fish food and stuff.). It doesn't matter what kind, they're all the same.
