I have seen just the opposite at times today. I think doing 35 in a 55 is pretty ridiculous. I don't think speed is the real problem. People just do not pay attention at all! In the rain things happen fast.

because they think if they drive fast they can get where they are going quicker to avoid the rain, and they are also complete morons

they're always in a big hurry and when it rains it just irritates them and makes them more in a hurry because they get stuck in traffic.
