Why does my fish freak out when i put a magnet by it (its a betta)

Answers:Hmmm, that's intersting. I think it's because a magnet could seem big and scary to a betta. I don't think it would be because of the magnetic fields, but who knows? That would be an intersting science fiar project!

maybe its not the magnet.. its just scared because it thinks your trying to harm it... try putting just your finger near the fish bowl. does it freak out? we there ya go
Most fish freak out when you put your hands or foreign objects in the tank. I have a community tank and when I place the net in it to scoop out the left over food all of my tropical fish freak out. Including my Betta. It's not a big deal. The fish will calm down shortly after you are finished cleaning the tank.
