Why has my fish2007-11-24 23:43:18

My goldfish has broken out in red bloches (it had previously turned silver) does anyone know what this means?

Sounds like it may be Lymphocystis or ulcers, try adding aquarium salt for freshwater, and try an antibacterial med for freshwater fish. Do a complete water change and clean everything inside the tank.

Never keep goldfish in a round bowl! Fish movements cause vibrations in the water that are reflected onto the fish by the bent glass. Consequently, the fish is continually receiving its own echo through it's lateral line organ. This causes permanent stress, and the disease resistance of the goldfish weakens.
