Why is my fish keeps dying2007-11-24 23:43:59

So i bought 2 fishes last saturday and then they died yesterday.My father said that they suffercate because i use tap water with know chlorin.Is this right.

What kind of fish? How big the tank? Temperature of the water? What kind of filter?

Chlorine is in all tap water. What you need to do is get it out of the water. Buy some DeChlor liquid and use it according to the directions.

Don't buy anymore fish until you do some research on the species you plan to keep in your aquarium.. you do have an aquarium, don't you?

Take your water to the fish store to get test. They can tell you what is wrong with your water. They can recommend what PH is need for the water in your area.

you need to add an additve to the water so its suitable for the fish to live in and a water pump would do them great aswell.you can pick these up quite cheap these days

you need to check the PH of your water to acidic your fish will get diseased. once my fish had a massive tumor on its head and it burst and died. this actually passed on another disease to another fish and he also died. U need to change the shop where u buy your fish where they can be corrupt as they sell the fish very old and so that you go back and buy one at the same shop which gives them more of a profit. be careful.

dont forget adding a drop of lemonade to your tank when you clean it. to keep the gills of fish of your fish healthy.

Tap water has chlorine and everytime you put water in the tank, add anti chlorine. This will stop the deaths.

Tap water has either Chlorine or Chloranine in it, You need to use a Dechlor that binds all, chlorine,chlorinine, ammonia,nitrite and nitrates as well as removing heavy metals from the water. Prime is the best. But, is your tank set up right? Is it big enough for the species of fish involved? Does it have adequate filter, air pump and stone or bubble bar? Do you know about cycling the tank?
