Why is my gold fish dying all the time
1st check your water - Tap water tends to have chlorine and other water purifying agents which affect fish. try getting fresh water from a fresh clean pond or lake.
2nd try keeping the goldfish in a separate tank may be they other fish in your tank don't suite your gold fish.
3rd try changing the fish food that you have been feeding, try a new but tried and tested brand, speak to people who also have aquariums at home
let me know if this works for you

One small goldfish needs 10 gallons ALL TO ITSELF. Adult gold fish and the larger varieties of Koi need closer to 25 gallons or more PER FISH. Anything smaller and they have problems exchanging oxygen in their gills. It has nothing to do with filtration or equipment.
People don't realize that goldfish need that much space.
Also, goldfish don't like sharing a tank with anything but other goldfish. Tropical fish like warm water while goldies need it cold.
I don't think it is any sort of disease either. None of the cures worked and you cleaned the tank and started over completely.
You don't mention how big your tank is so try other fish if you have a small one. Go for Mollies, Platies, Tetras, and Guppies. They are almost indistructable and will "cycle" your tank to build up good bacteria and proper water chemistry.
Good Luck, hope this helps.
I have been keeping fishes since i was 7yr old and for gold fish i would like to say that some other fishes are picking up your fish because they get burning appearance when other fishes eats up there scales and they have been caught up by some fungal diseases due to which they stop eating and form an angular shape. You should also control the temperature of the tank as gold fish are cold water fishes of cool lakes.keep an eye on your schooling fishes as most of them are carnivores and may be picking up your gold fish.Keep gold fish in there own personal tank,Hope this would help you.Bye
The burning look is a condition called ammonia burn. That means your water quality is bad. You are either overstocked or are not doing water changes frequently enough.
Yeh i thinks it's something to do with the water and loneliness. I mean would you to be stuck in a tank.all by yourself? Cuz i wouldn't. Haha just remembered a story about my first fish.
