Why is my gold fish dying all the time2007-11-24 23:44:01

I was little ok. My Granny put boiling water into the fish tank and the fish died the next day. I was bawling my eyes out haha. So sad, still remember it haha. Yeh, your goldfish didn't have the same problem as mine haha.

Hi.. this info i got it from a friend whose friend is a petshop owner, They say that goldfish that they sold is meant to die slowly once it is bought and taken away from the pet owner fish tank. As a result, that the buyer will come back for more and more and more until they got fed up. Thats how pet shop owner makes money. Some liquid they use.

Golodfish are very dirty and excrete a HUGE amount of wastes and can dirty water to dangerous levels if there is not a good fish-to-water ratio. Goldfish beign so dirty need at least 10gal per fish. I know it sounds a little outragous, but it is the only way to keep them. You didn't say the size of the tank but it sounds like you have an overcrowding problem. That or like someone else suggested try using bottled water. I have well water at my home so I use bottled spring water from walart, 68cents a gallon. Don't use distilled water, there is nothing in it and it will kill the fish.

You must note that adding antibiotic should be once in four days.

If not the water will be too acidic.

after that, a change in water must take place for 1/2 of the tank before trying out any other solution.

Do not add conditioner and try out other antibiotic medication at the same time.

Mixture of both will caused chemical reaction.

Best way is to cultivate bio-Bacteria in your tank, this need a lot of attention and patience.

That conspiracy theory is rubbish i have goldies that are years old and going strong. The problem is people don't learn the special needs of goldfish before buying them not petstore owners poisoning fish.
