Why is my guppy agressive =[2007-11-24 23:44:02

I have just bought 2 new male guppies and before I added them to my tank I had a plec and just one male guppy.

Now I have put them in - the old one is really agressive and chasing the poor new ones. Is this simply down to a terrotorial guppy?

its not that hes Territorial its that he was probably hoping for a female you should have two females to every male they are rampant breeders and will pester other fish to death if his "NEED'S" aren't met you need females to balance things out the plec should not have any changes what so ever towards the rest!

Well he probably is a terrotorial guppy. I never heard of it and my brother had guppies. He had two boys and one girl. I never heard nothing like that. Maybe he likes being the only fish like cats and dogs like being the only one. separate them so he won't have a problem

This is common, they're just tryin to figure out who's boss. Should be fine in a few days. If you see the other fish losing scales and parts of their fins you probably should seperate them. Take care :)

It's normal, try moving around your decorations so that you break up his territory and so that the others can claim territory also. That's an easy way to fix the problem
