Will My Alge Sucker Live2007-11-24 23:44:14

I just got an glge sucker and I never see it eat! Is this normal, or will it die??

Answers:

They are very nocturnal. Even if you do not see him/her sucking the sides of the glass, or down on the gravel - trust me - at lights out is when they are doing their thing.

Pick up some Algae Wafers to toss in there every now and then, because natural Algae is not the only thing they should eat.

It will suck the algae off the side of the tank. If you are afraid it's not eating, you can go to the petstore and buy it some algae wafers. Just make sure your other fish dont eat it, they might get sick off of the wafer. ( It makes them really lethargic!)

most algae eaters (pleco's) are nocturnal. they will feed when you are asleep. it is important to make sure you turn the aquarium light off at night.
