if i catch a catfish or bass at a lake will it survive in an aquarium?

Answers:

That depends on it's size and how big your tank is, likely the fish will outgrow the tank. It may not eat flake or pellet food and only eat live food, so you should think about it before you try.

It probably will, as long as the water is de-chlorinated ect., A word of caution though, in most states keeping wild fish in aquariums is illegal.

As far as I know, yes. But be sure you have a good pump to circulate the water. I don't know about bass, but I know catfish can cause a lot of dirt and fungus to accumulate in a tank, which will stink over time. Plus, catfish can grow quit big so make sure you have a tank big enough to accomodate it. I've seen catfish pull out of the lake that topped over 100 pounds!

It really depends on the care it gets I believe we had some fish we caught at a lake in a aquarium at one time just make sure you keep it a normal temp. for the fish and feed it what it would probably eat as if it was in the lake same with the lighting otherwise it might go into like shock and die. I don't know really that is just my guess.

It is possible (i've kept natives such as sunfish, pike, darters, and many others) if the aquarium is large enough, well established (cycled, etc), and the temp is kept low. If you cannot keep your temp in the low 70s, high 60s, you would need to invest in a chiller, which can be quite expensive.
