im getting a new tropical fishtank and need as much info as possible

hi, i hav a tank measuring 24 x 13 x 11", i need to know everything such as suitable fish for that size tank, suitable heater and filter, what plants and how many to get, what ornaments ect

i dont really want to have to put sea salt in my tank (as im new to tropical) so im thinking freshwater.

i would really appreciate as much information as you can give me!

You can usually buy tropical tank kits that include the filtration system, air pump, etc, in the kit with the tank, for a price that usually isn't much more than the price of a tank alone. Whether you need a heater or not, depends on where the tank is located and what species of fish you decide on. Guppies for instance, are a good starter fish because they are hardy and also are fun because they produce live babies. I use mostly artificial plants, grasses, some floating at the top of the tank, and some anchored in the gravel, for the baby guppies to hide in when they are born. Live plants can be hard to keep alive! Ornaments are a matter of choice, except you don't want the tank too crowded with ornaments, and you want to use only ornaments you buy that are made for fish tanks so you know there is nothing toxic in the material they are made with. You also will want to have at least one algae eater, which is a fish that helps keep the glass inside the tank clean! You also will want a small catfish to help keep the bottom of the tank clean. These scavenger fish are very useful!
