I don't think it matters.fish have short memories (thankfully for them) so they won't remember where they are or "get bored" in either shape.

well if u mean a square of the same length as the diameter of the bowl..i.e of the same size,then defently the square tank because theres more room in that

Also it depends on the fish,Fighter fish and gold fish dont need alot of room so it doesnt really matter wether is square or a bowl

The shape of the tank/bowl doesn't really matter. But, depending upon how many and what kind of fish you have, make sure you buy a tank that's big enough. Goldfish are pretty happy in a simple round fish bowl but tropical fish do better in a regular fish tank with a fluorescent light, heater, air pump, filter, etc. Check with someone who works in the pet store and they can recommend the proper tank and accessories for your fish.

A square tank would be better, since it provides more space to swim for fish. And as I have come to know, bigger is better. The tank's parameters remain stable and it's less prone to disease.

No fish should be in a bowl, its cruel even for bettas and goldfish. It's actually illegal in different parts of the world because of it.

But anyway, shape does matter for some fish. Most fish like (and need) space to swim back and forth but some fish swim up and down more, like angels, so they need taller tanks instead of longer tanks.

dont get one with a mirror in it the fish will get confused and bang in to the mirror!!
