The only way you can keep 2 male bettas in a tank together is to get a divider. No matter what size tank they are in they will kill each other. Also after a male mates with a female he will kill her so you are going to want to seperate the females from the males as well.

i never did it. i would sit my two tanks side by side and my two males would try to fight through the glass! i think they will fight eacnh other in the same tank

Its been done with two males in a 55 gallon, but for bettas in a 55..I doubt it would turn out well.

With that much room they may have little fights but they should be able to set up their own territories and stay clear of each other most of the time. I mean they live in the same areas in the wild and the fact that they still exist means that they don't just kill each other all the time.

I'm not saying it will definitely work, but I have known several people that have done it without problems

No, don't keep them together. Male betas are very aggressive and will attack each other until one of them is killed. I've only had one female before and she was fairly aggressive as well. I would seperate them all.

yes but you will need to have 2 well defined zones for the to stake as their home to keep the fight to a minimum they my fight a small bit but 55 is a good size for up to 4 sets if they have their own spot

I I have done it. I had a 20 gallon tank with one male with three females. I kept him in a separator for two weeks and then but him in with the girls. He was a mellow male, but they all seemed to get along great. If anything, the females were the mean ones.
