is there a process to turn wood into something you can put into a tank without harming it? how about wood from a swamp? are those any good??
Answers:You know sometimes people just think too much. Why would you want to do that? Why not just go to the store and buy the most expensive decorations you can find. Then sit back and watch football or go to a movie.
LITTLE STORY THAT MIGHT HELP:
If you're a circus clown, and you have a dog that you use in your act, I don't think it's a good idea to also dress the dog up like a clown, because people see that and they think, "Forgive me, but that's just too much."
yes they or it is but needs to be soaked and cleaned first . What you need to know is parasites etc may be transferred this way but if you use baby cleaning bottle fluid and then lots of rinses it should be okay . The other thing i should mention the wood releases a substance called Tannin which is okay for the fish but gives the water a yellow tinge which not everyone likes . Hope this helps
no
Either boil it in a pot you don't like anymore (it may stain/disfigure it) or soak it in water. Just do it until the water doesn't turn brown, which means all of the tannins are leaked out. If it doesn't sink, just soak it until it does.
I would find some dead tree limbs which have been well aged with the bark having already fallen off them . That should do nicely . You perhaps could find some untreated lumber and use a dremel (hand held rotory cutting tool)with cutting attachments and carve one to your liking but you may need to weight it down with something that wouldn't harm the fish.
Yes if it's been dead for over a year and it's in good condition. Remove the bark, and any soft pieces. Then boil it for 4-8 hours. In addition to killing of anything on it. The boiling will make it sink, and remove the tanis from the wood. If you don't boil it long enough. It will float, and, harmlessly, make the water tea colored.
