I agree with the above answer with regards to the use of Yoyo Loach or Clown Loaches, but I would also like to add Puffers to that list.

The Yoyo Loaches are very good first choice but I would recommend against it unless you have a fairly large tank to support a small group. As well they are know to be aggressive towards slower moving fish. Check out the link below for more info.

Clown Loaches, while a great addition to a community tank, they require a lot more work as they do not have scales but a type of skin and are very "susceptible to white spot disease, this fish is said to not tolerate medications." Also you cannot buy just one and they need a fairly large tank as well.

My suggestion would be for a freshwater puffer. I have thoroughly enjoyed a Figure Eight Puffer (Tetraodon biocellatus) in my community tank for many years. They are active snail hunters and very easy to keep. The only downside is that they might be fin nippers for slower moving fish such as Betas. Check out the link below for more info.

But believe me, I have had many fish in my tanks before, but none get more attention from people then a puffer. Plus seeing them hunt for snails around the tank are priceless!

Clown Loaches will eat snails, but they get about 5 inches long, are bottom dwellers, and can be semi aggressive
yup.
The most often recommendation is to add a Yoyo loach. These are really cool fish that don't grow too large and usually get along with most fish. Clown loaches are also recommended but they have the potential to grow to 12 inches
