just bought some guppies

I just bought 3 guppies from the store. 1 male 2 female. How long will it be before they begin mating? what are some things i need to know about how to raise the baby guppies?

Female guppies store sperm for up to 5 batches of fry so your fish is already pregnant. They usually give birth once a month if the conditions of the tank are good but if they are stressed in any way they can have on to them for weeks longer. When you see a dark area above the females anal fin it is called the gravid spot and means that the guppy is pregnant (it is the frys' eyes). If you have a well-planted tank a large number of the fry should survive as they will eat off the plants and not come out into plain view as often, they can eat a finely ground version of whatever you feed the adults. That way they can share the same heater and filtration system (water condition affects the growth rate of fry more then feeding). There is a theory that if you feed your guppies live food they will not be as interested in their fry, so many people feed live brine shrimp to their fish. They are easy to raise at home, you can buy kits at pet stores that only require pop bottles and an air pump. Young fry can be sexed at two weeks. After a good feed you will notice that the male fry get a large chest and the females get a large belly. The fry can get pregnant at three weeks so you can wait until then to look for a gravid spot. Feeds like beef heart (you can buy it frozen at pet stores) and earthworm flakes increase the lifespan and number of fry.
