My Betta Fighter fish, swins really really fast at a particular time in the evenings, n her gills open up n stuff? wat exactely happens to her?? She swims normally throughtout the day
Plz help me on this
Answers:"she" is a he and if its at a particular time of day like the evening when its starting to go dark outside of the tank he may be able to see his reflection in the side of his tank and be threatening his own reflection.
When it is light outside the tank the reflection disappears and he calms down.

It just gets excited. This is it's most active time of day. All of the Bettas with the pretty big fins are males by the way!
She may be excited at this time of the day. Opening up her gills is perfectly normal. And when you say "she", make sure it really is a "she" before putting it with another fighting fish as Betta Placat look like females but are in fact better fighters than the usual long-finned Betta Splendens.
It gets active during that particular time. If you look at other bigger fishes like barramundi, their active times are early morning and evenings. This is the time when they come out to feed.
