last wk I asked about green spotted blow fish anyone remember2007-11-24 23:38:02

I asked about ?brackish water. How mush salt to add to my 1 1/2 gal tank, and are blood worms ok to feed them?. I got 3 ans.. Thank You very much! I was able to use one of the links you sent and it was great too. Today, via e-mail, I was prompted to go back to my question to see more ans. that had arrived. I can't seem to get back to my ?. If anyone would like to give me more info. on "Hootie % Kermet" please do so. I have treated them 3 times now for "Ick" [that they had when I bought them] but I think they still have it. Thank You Again!

1 and a half gallons is small for that type of fish. i have mine in a 20 gallon. but ur supposed to add about a tsp. of aquarium salt per gallon. my puffers had ''ick'' too. i used quick cure. it worked great. but i realized also i didnt have enough salt. that made him more lively and everything. but yeah. just try a bit more salt. not too much tho. and by the way. your gunna need some snails or sumthin with a hard shell for the tank. the blowfish needs to nibble on the shell to keep its teeth from over growing. and blood worms are great for them. they like frozen a bit better than freeze dried tho. hope i was of help to you

Well, your previous question isn't there. Did you use another sign in name maybe? Try looking at this forum, lots of good info about puffers. You'll want to be careful with meds you use for puffers. And did you remove the carbon from your filter? That'll take the meds right out of the water, making the treatment useless. I just noticed the size of your tank. Green spotted puffer needs at least a 20 gallon.

1 1/2 gallons is very small. consider a lager aquarium for keeping any type of fish.
