my beta fish is a freak
Seriously, he freaks out when he see's anything Green.I'll be trying to highlight my school work with my green highlighter and he get's all irritated. Also, lately he's been digging at the pebbles in the bottom of his bowl and not been eating as regularly has he had in the past. What's going on? is this normal or will I soon have to flush him?
Answers:Different Bettas will respond aggressively to different colors. Mine hates anything red. He can be rooting through the gravel for a variety of reasons. You may be overfeeding him and there may be planaria living in the bowl that he is snacking on (tiny white worms). You may be feeding flake food and he is scraping bits of them off his throat. The pebbles may be coated enough that he is seeing a bit of his reflection.
I would suggest to reduce what you are feeding and increase your water changes to be on the safe side.

Dont flush him until he is dead. Beta's are highly aggresive. I used to put up a mirror to my fish tank and he would flare his gills real big and get a huffy and active. It's just their nature. And his digging in the rocks could be his way of eating his food.
LOL!!
I have had several bettas over the years, & I'm convinced they have individual little personalities!!
One of the two I have now sleeps completely vertical, either face-up or face-down. He also digs at the pebbles in his bowl. I think he just likes "standing on his head".
