Answers:Do not kill them that is mean. my Platy is realy pregnet and I have read a lot. You should take them out of the breading in 6 weaks.
The babies should be fine in there.when I had sword tails, I took flakes and broke them up.then I put the broken pieces into my net and used it to sift the smaller pieces out over the breeder net.these pieces were just the right size for the babies to eat..make sure of your chem. balance in your tank.when I do a water change, I use bottled drinking water.no guessing on the chems in it!
Good luck with those babies!
kill them they'll be fine
Since you had your frys separated from the grown fishes, they should all be able to survive. Of course, unless your water quality wasn't good enough in the first place for the grown fishes. Frys need the same water quality from the adults, so if the big ones are doing fine, the frys should too.
go to lps and get some baby fish food, buy a breeder trap and separate them from the bigger fishes. put some java Moss in it.
make sure the fry are not close to any water current.
my fish used to have babies all the time and i would just put them in the breeder net but try to put something over the net because ive had a fish jump in it more than once and eat all the babies..feed the crushed up flakes and that pretty much all you can do they should survive..ps. keep lookin for babies every month or so because platys are livebearers and they will continue to have babies
I've been keeping platties for years. They are always having babies. I keep my tank with a couple sunken ship toys and some fake plants with crevices in the bottom. When the babies are born, they hide in those places for about a week or so, and then start to come out on their own. No chasing from bigger fish, no harrassment from others. They eat what falls to the bottom and naturally come out when they get a bit bigger. Good luck with your breeding.they should be fine on their own. (Just make sure you have a place for them to hide on their own.)
I would just get a small 5 gallon aquarium for the babies to grow in. Give them crushed flakes, or small foods like brine shrimp. Make shure there parents are not with them, they will eat them. They usually have a lot of babies, so im guessing they ate the rest.
just make sure to feed them crush fish flakes. You can do this by placing some fish flakes in a ziplock bag and crushing it with ur hands until they become poweder. Then feed the babies 3-4 times a day. Check out this website it has info on breeding and carrign for fry (fish babies) good luck =)
