Your fish has an external fungal problem and probably an internal bacterial one too.

He is going to die soon.

If you want to give him a chance, buy the following meds and treat right away:

Maracyn & Maracyn 2 - to treat him inside and out

http://www.pets-warehouse.com/vpasp/shop.

Melafix - for healing his body and fin damage after the antibiotics have run their course

Aquarium Salt - to boost his electrolytes and also aid healing later on.

Follow the M/M2 instructions and when they are done treat him with Melafix for about a week. You can add salt (small dose) at anytime but never mix the melafix with the anti biotics.

Consider how you are keeping this fish - is he in a silly, small vase or in a proper aquarium with planting, heating and filtration? His water is not being cleaned enough and you are over feeding him because this level of disease does not come on overnight.

A betta needs space! They live in shallow water but they have large territories in the wild. He would do great in a smaller aquarium with a cheap filter and a mini heater. No sharp gravel and NO plastic plants.

Join the UK Betta Forum and get the best advice - they are at the top of the field in betta breeding and care and have many international members. They are friendly and will help you with your fish now and if you get anymore.

Fish can get a number of skin problems from fin rot, white spot, mites fungal infections all usually caused by stress, phone your vets and explain the symptons most can be treated by treatment of water.
No, it sounds like a fish disease. Check these sites out below.
