Try doing 20% water changes daily w/ reverse osmosis bottled water until the alkalinity comes down to a good level.
Good luck!
I have never heard of using distilled water, hmm.
I know with cars, you only want to put distilled water, because regular water will make it rust.
Just curious. Did you add any stones or rocks from outside? Some of these things I have noticed can cause a higher amount of Alkalinity to a tank. Even sea shells you have collected from a beach. The best way to test if any ornaments you added caused your alkalinity to go up is to remove each one and place it in a bucket over night with tap water and test it the next day. I tested many of peoples water that had high alkalinity and found out that they put in stones or rock etc from nature.
Mix some calcium chloride (baking soda) in some water and add it slowly into your tank until your alkalinity levels are right.
I couldn't even guess how much as I don't know how big your tank is or what your readings currently are, or what you want them to be.
