pleco question
I have a pair of plecos, some times I find their fins damaged, I tried to find the culprit but.., can u say who can be the culprit among these cichlids(tankmates)
oscar, firemouth, electric yello, blue and albino zebra morphs.
Answers:it could be any of them they are all pretty aggressive it could have even been the other pleco trying to establish dominance over the other kinda thing you never no it could have also been a sharp decoration in your aquarium some times theses things happen but as long as everyone looks and acts healthy and happy i wouldn't worry to much but if the damage is to much for the pleco you can always take him out and put him in a hospital tank and treat him with some fin grower you can buy it at walmart and it doesn't cost to much Lott's of luck to ya !!
could be all I have a pleco with my Oscar and sometimes I find my Oscar chasing him around and his fins too look damaged
Could very well be any of them, although I would suspect in this order.firemouth, oscar, yellow, morphs
I would say the FireMouth. I had these any they are infamous for being aggressive. I like them though. Try getting a fish called River Cichlid. Thats the only name I know it by. Its a bottom feeder but not like a pleco. They are very aggressive and can hold there own very well in a tank with aggressive fish. They aren't beautiful, but they are full of personality. Plecos aren't really ideal for the kinds of fish you have anyway. They all could be picking on your plecos.
All of them could be responsible, but I'd think Firemouth, then Oscar. Are any of them at breeding age and establishing their territories? That could be a real contributing factor.
