When I lived in new orleans they had fish that would jump up out of the water and glide then go back under water. They are supposely some kind of fish from overseas.

They are just called flying fish. There are any number of variations.

Also a number of my female bettas think they can fly. Judging by the number times they've gone airborne during feeding. Which requires me to retrieve them from the counter top.
