what kind of fish could i breed2007-11-24 23:42:20

ITS ALWAYS THE GIRLS OPINION!

Answers:

guppies are really easy to breed. Except take the female out of the tank when she's gonna deliver, because all the other fish will

eat the babies. Including the father.!

have u try any fish before?

breeding is difficult, you have to know very deeply in the fish habitat.. if you just want your fish to get birth its quite easy.. but good breeder is really require a lot of knowledge and experience .. and money ..

guppies are easiest to breed
If your new to tropical fish Live bears are easy to breed. Guppies swordtails, platies, and mollies are easy to breed. To tell sex on these fish when their young look at the anal fin (Bottom fin). On males it is narrow and oblong on females it is rounded. Male swordtails have the long (Sword) tail. A female live bearer can have multiple births from one encounter of a male. If you have a well planted and non crowed aquarium you can allow the female to give birth in the tank (you will probably lose at least 50% of the young). To keep the young from being eaten you can buy a hatchery from the pet store. The one I used when K first started with tropical fish (45 years ago) was a hard plastic box with small holes it it to allow the flow of water from the tank into it. The hatchery clips at the top inside of the tank. There is a "V" shape piece of plastic that is open at the bottom of the "V". This slit allows the new born babies to fall to the bottom of the hatchery away from the mother so they can not be eaten. After all the babies have been born the mother can be scooped and the "V" shape insert can be removed to give the babies more room. The babies can be moved to their own tank or feed and raise in the hatchery. Do not over feed (feed small amounts of food) several times a day. (Livebear babies can eat flake food that are crushed between your fingers).
u should breed COWS! they r soo much better than fishes. And cows smell good!
if its your first time breeding fish start with guppies. They are like bunnies of the sea lol. tetras are very easy to breed but take a long time to reach breeding age. Mollies are very easy to breed as well.
Most fish other than the livebrearers are a real pain. Guppies, and molly are generally hard not to breed. My molly are always dropping fry. I had to buy cute little bumblebee catfish to control the population. (aka Darth Catfish as you never see him) Platty, and swordtails also breed, but not as much as their other livebearer relatives. Realize that most fish outside of the live bearers produce hundreds of really really small offspring that require special food. Also the difficulty of breed increases a lot.

Bettas, and tetras are breed able, but will require a fair bit of work. Anglefish will pair and breed, but they need to be fairly old, and paired off. This requires a large tank 50+ gallon, and the breeding pair of angels will tend to kill off their tank mates. I'm told you can breed other chiclids as well, but again you need older fish and large tanks.

gulpies and molly are easy to breed and take care of . They both will give you lots of babies ,if that is what u want
Guppies are good and i think the first kinds that i breed together were platies. I think mollys are good ones also.
