its a big fish, related to the shark. they are usually bottom dwellers, but there are some species that swim more. larger ones have been knows to let humans "ride" on their backs and are generally interested in humans. i've fed them before, and i've swam with them. they are very gentle creatures, but they do have a defense systems which happens to be a barb on their tail and when the feel threatened, or as it usually happens, stepped on, the barb can penetrate skin and the victim can be poisoned by its venom. it can be extremely painful and sometimes lead to death, usually caused by an allergic reaction the the venom, same as a bee sting.
