what to do about dying dragon fish2007-11-24 23:42:31

they all started dying recently and I have no clue as to why. The water is fine and there are two other types of fish with them that are doing fine. Only one left out of four, Please Help!

I agree with the second answer. Dragon fish are gobies, and are brackish fish. They require a certain amount of salt in the water to do well. However, they don't handle ammonia well either, so I would have that tested first. If the ammonia level is high, do a 10% water change every second day for a week and a half, or use an ammonia absorbing compound such as bio-chem zorb, or a neutralizer like ammo-lock. Hope this helps you : ) Also, make sure you are feeding them frozen bloodworms, or something similar.

Dragon Fish are usually hardy and easy to keep, and they are very peaceful fish. But they have very small eyes and often have difficulty finding food before the other fish in their aquarium have eaten all of the food.

Be sure that their tank mates don't eat all the food and starve the Dragon Fish. Even though they look ferocious, Dragon Fish are very peaceful fish.

Fish do well in either a cool water aquarium or a warm water aquarium. The water temperature should be between 65 and 78 degrees F.

Keep one or a several Dragon Fish in an aquarium, but do not keep just a few Dragon Fish together, because the strongest Dragon Fish will make the other Dragon Fish miserable, unless there are several Dragon Fish to distract the strongest Dragon Fish.

These are brackish fish. Are you keeping them in brackish water?
