Fish have different lifespans. Fish like tetras have a few years. Cichlids can live 10+ years (and some of the larger ones like Ocars a bit longer). Koi can live up to 40 years.
However the fish that live longer tend to be larger and need to have their enviroment clean (weekly water changes, overfiltration etc.) OR they get too large for an aquarium.
i had a goldfish for like 5 years once.
quit buying fish to kill them, make sure you know what you're doing.you fish killer you!!lol!!
If you have the room for a pond, Koi fish can live over 40 years in captivity. Some have even been reported to live to 200! I've got a dozen or so that are about 20 years old. Good luck!
generally chinese gold fish grows and lives pretty long.. just make sure u pay good attention and care to them.. i have two that are each 1 foot long and i've had them for atleast 5 years.
