goldfish can live for about ten years if properly cared for. I had a goldfish when I was five. It lived three weeks. Oh well by bettas that I have now have lived for about six months. That is all I have had them for. ;)

yeah about 3 yrs some were in a tank others in a big pond in the garden but they got eaten by a heron

My oldest goldie is 4 and going strong. I've heard fancy goldfish have a life expectancy of 10 years, but the commons, shubunkins, and comets can live for a number of decades. Of course, without proper care and nutrition, these magnificent animals won't survive into their golden years.

Mine died last month, I had him/her for 6 years and I got him/her from a friend who said he had him/her for 4 years, I think the world record for the oldest goldie is 65 years, it lives in Texas, read it once in a small report in the daily newspaper.

My oldest was a black moor that I had for over 8 years. It died from reoccurring dropsy. The ones I have now I have had for a little over 2 years. I won the 3 of them from a fair, that december they had babies and I still have 3 of them.

If taken care of properly and are healthy they can live 20+ years.
