which tank is better: plastic or glass2007-11-24 23:43:03

mine was leaking and i discovered the bottom was broken and i don't know how it happened, would plastic be safer?

I have two plastic tanks and they are harder to keep clean . I was you I would just stay with glass it is easy to clean and the fish do better in the tank my glass tank is 10 gal.

Plastic usually doesnt look as clear as glass. I think the "risk" of glass is worth it.

Plastic scratches really easily, but it's more flexible and less likely to break than glass.

Glass looks much better and if you get good quality it will not leak.i would never use plastic just looks tacky.

depends on what size you need. You only tend to get plastic tanks in smaller sizes, as glass is stronger. It is all to do with stress per square inch etc. For a bigger tank, glass is best, but plastic is cheaper. I would always go with glass.

It does not matter that much.unless some plastics start disolving in water in reaction to some chemicals you put in water to help the fish which will actually harm the fish. Glass ones are more clear and look more beautiful.
