why are my 3 goldfish killing everyone else in the tank2007-11-24 23:43:46

i added a goldfish to my tank, i had two 5 inchers an a couple small ones he seemed to have buddied up with some they were smaller ones 2-3 inches before i realized it they killed both my 5+ inch ones then they turned on the last smaller one who i managed to save, i tried readding him an the immediatley began attacking his sides. they are in a 45 gallon fish tank an i feed them several times a day but any fish i try to add gets beat to death still is this normal??

males can be aggressive when mating but never heard of them joining forces. best kill the aggressors and restock

just territoral or feel threatened.. try adding 10 bigger fish see what happen

you need to feed them goldfish food. for the tropical fish feel them tropical fish food.

It's the "law of the jungle". Survival of the fittest. The big ones feed on the small ones and will grow to a certain size depending on the size of their environment. The bigger the tank, the bigger the fish.

I've had goldfish for years and never seen this before.. Strange. Is the fish by chance sick? THe fish could be picking on it because of that?
